Morgan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Waltenberg, Rt. 4, Box 541, is home on leave to marry Bonnie Zwicki, Corvallis. He is an automobile mechanic in the Army which he entered in May.

ALBANY Pvt. E-2 Terrence Timothy Fry, son of Mrs. Rachel Fry, 1305 Elm is home on leave prior to reporting to Fort Dix, N.J. Nov. 23 for reassignment.

He graduated from Albany Union high school in June, 1964 and trained in the infantry at Fort Ord, Calif. win F. Tuttle, 1075 W. Queen was recently presented his the emblem of a qualified submariner. He is aboard the Greenfish operating out ot Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

Tuttle is a graduate of Albany Union high school and entered the Navy in January, 1962.. LYONS Rodney J. Schaer, son of Mrs. Gwen Schaer, Rt. 1, has been appointed group executive officer with the cadet rank of major in the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps detachment at Oregon State University.

He is a graduate of San SCIO Clarence E. Moore, seaman, USCG, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence E. Moore, recently participated in the rescue of two persons from a lost boat while serving at the Coast Guard Yaquina Bay Station, Newport.

ALBANY Airman Tihrd Class Norman B. Powell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold M. Powell, Rt.

2, has graduated from the training course for Air Force jet aircraft mechanics at Amarilla AFB, Tex. He is a graduate of Salem Academy. He is being reassigned to Mountain Home AFB, Idaho. 'ALBANY James Edward Jager, seaman, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Don Lyon, 1535 Walnut Albany, is home on leave from Ft. Bragg, N.C. where he serves as a medic. He entered the army in January, 1964 after attending Albany Union high school. Basic training was done at Fort Ord, Calif.

Pkg. bomber crashed and burned late Tuesday night on a pasture in rugged range country 20 miles south of this northeastern Montana town, killing all seven crewmen. A spokesman at Glasgow Air Force Base said a recovery and investigation team sent to the scene confirmed that all aboard had perished.

The giant eight-engine bomber, stationed at Larson Air Force base in Moses Lake, crashed and burned shortly after 11 p.m. in the pasture of the Clarence Chamberlain ranch seven miles west of the hamlet of Vida. A witness at the scene said the Air Force craft skidded about one-half mile after hitting the ground. He said the plane burned except for the tail section and scattered pieces of wreckage. A rescue and investigating team from Glasgow Air Force base, about 50 miles northwest of the scene, went to the wreckage in a convoy.

The plane was attached to the 462nd Strategic Aerospace Wing at Larson AFB. An Air Force spokesman said it was on a proficiency training mission.
