The Roadrunners dropped a 70-63 decision to Grays Harbor in the Centralia Tournament and will face Centralia today. The tournament does not pit the winners against winners or vice verse. "We were a victim of poor shooting," said LBCC Coach Butch Kimpton, "especially on good opportunity shots.

Our key people were taking good shots, and those are the people that we expect to score. But they weren't hitting tonight. "We didn't get the type of offensive consistency that you need to win basketball games." The Roadrunners were In a position to take command late in the contest, tied at 60-60. "But we didn't hit the shots and they did," said Kimpton. "If we had shot well with the shots we took, we could have won the game.

109.94 Sweet Home rips Portland's Adams in non-league test PORTLAND Adams High School probably has seen all it wants of Sweet Home High School athletic teams this year. In football the Huskies won overwhelmingly, 63-0 against Adams in September, and Friday night the Huskies won a non-league basketball game 64-57. That's a combined 127-57 margin. Only this time, it wasn't as easy as in football. Neither team shot well, and the Huskies, 2-1 on the season, played just well enough down the stretch to survive an Adams rally.

Sweet Home led most of the way, but was vulnerable to the press and saw its lead shrink to five late in the game. Mike Wilkerson, who has scored in double figures all three games, scored twice in the final minute to clinch the win. He slipped underneath and made two nice moves past defenders to the basket; he finished with 13 points. Sweet Home didn't play particularly well against Valley League power Crescent Valley earlier in the week in a lopsided loss, was better Friday, but not by much. "In the last two games we haven't shot well at all," said Felix Wilkerson, the Sweet Home coach.

"That's one of the things we have to do well because we're at a height disadvantage. They (Adams) had 22 offensive rebounds, and we can't give that up."
