Albany Democrat-Herald 4 I B5 FEOPLE Saturday, December 12, 1998 WEDDINGS ANNIVERSARIES Brogdon-Kmght JM A 1 OA Fenn Ed and Lena Fenn of Albany are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this afternoon at a potluck dinner and reception. Friends and family are all invited. The party is from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, 1469 Timber St. S.E.

The couple's children and grandchildren will be hosts. Ed Fenn and Lena Johannessen were married Dec. 11, 1948 in Madras. They have lived in Albany for 43 years. Lena is a homemaker and Ed is a retired lineman.

They especially enjoy taking off for Nevada on a whim. The Fenns are parents of Mary Fenn and Steve Bryant, Ed Fenn and Gladys Fenn, Debbie Fenn and Ron Whipps. They have nine grandchildren and 15 i Luther-Daly Brandye M. Daly and Kevin R. Luther were married Aug.

22 at the home of the groom's parents. Rod Knofler, the bride's uncle, officiated. Parents of the couple are Steve and Darla Daly and Kelly and Vicky Luther, all of Albany. Brandye wore an off-the-shoul-der gown with a full skirt, train and fitted bodice. It was made of beaded and sequined satin and lace.

A ring of satin roses held her veil and she carried a bouquet of colorful wildflowers and roses. Roxie Daley, the bride's sister, was maid of honor. Cousins of the bride, Lori and Julie Knofler, the groom's sister, Stacey Luther, and Tammy Deleon and Carmel Wheilon were bridesmaids. Juan Deleon was best man. The groomsmen were Jon Schwabb, Scott Bond, Brian Robosen, Casey Reeves, Chris Muller.

Cory and Evan Hall and Travis Johnson ushered. There were four flowergirls: Hayley and Kelsev O'Connell, Kate-lyn Johnson and Hannah Royer. Tyler Royer was ringbearer, and Heather Bartl and Tonya Rivera Mattson-Boucher Paula Jean Boucher and Kelly Eugene Mattson were married Aug. 7 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in In Brandye and Kevin Luther lighted candles.

Brandye graduated in 1995 and Kevin in 1993, both from South Albany High School. She works for Citizens Bank of Corvallis, and he works for Golden West Homes. The Mattsons live in Albany. They took a wedding trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Paula and Kelly Mattson country coach.

The Mattsons took a wedding trip to the San Juan Islands. Their home is in Selah, Wash. I CM Brandy Knight, a 1991 graduate of West Albany High School, was married Nov. 7 to Chris Brogdon in a southern-style ceremony at the Pecan Plantation Country Club in Granbury, Texas. The bride, daughter of Mrs.

CC. Risenhoover of Granbury, wore a flowing, floor-length white gown and carried a bouquet of white flowers with ivy. Cori Jones, Robyn Risenhoover and Blaire Buchanan were the bridal attendants. Brandy attended Chemeketa Community Cpllege in Salem. She was a leasing agent for a property company before moving to Texas.

Chris, a graduate of the University of Georgia, is a supervisor for a construction company based in Atlanta, Ga. They took a honeymoon trip to New England. Thorpe-Shaughnessy Kelly Ann Shaughnessy and Christopher John Thorpe were married June 20 at Central Presbyterian Church in Eugene. Steve Math-ieson-Bowie officiated. Ernest and Bonnie Shaughnessy of Salem and Bob and Jeanette Thorpe of Albany are the couple's parents.

Kelly wore a white satin, floor-length gown with floor-length veil. She carried a bouquet of large pink and cream roses. Matrons of honor were Karen and Kris Shaughnessy, the bride's sisters. Annette Allen and Donelda Higgins were bridesmaids. Clare McDonald, the flowergirl, is the bride's niece.

Angus Murray and Michael Samard, nephews of the bride and groom, were ring-bearers. Michael Thorpe, the groom's brother, and John Donovan were best men. Rhett Koval and the bride's son, Michael Andrade, were groomsmen. The ushers were Bryan Murray, Will Etting and Dominique Suarez. The candles were lighted by Tyler and Brittany Troyer, niece and nephew of the groom.

Kelly and Christopher graduated Stilp-Klippenes Jodi Lynn Klippenes, a former Scio resident, and Curt Carlton Stilp Were married last year on Dec. 27. The wedding was in North St. Paul, with the Rev. George Klippenes officiating.

Rhonda Wehler of Salem, Don Klippenes of Bend, and Mowry and Carole Stilp of Mahtomedi, are parents of the couple. Jodi chose a sjeeveless, raw silk, A line dress that was trimmed with pearls. She wore a short veil and carried red tulips and white lilies with Christmas greenery. Heather Wiley was maid of honor and Anne Heppell was honorary matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Kari Wulf, Bridget Gerig and sisters-in-law of the bride, Lara and Laura Stilp and Quenby Klippenes.

Niece and nephew of the groom, Alexa and Caleb Stilp, were flower-girl and Bible bearer. The ringbearer was Chantz Gerig. Best men were the groom's brothers, Chad and Cory Stilp. Groomsmen were the bride's brother, Shane Klippenes, and Cory Whipkey, John Konkel and Dan Pitts. Nate Rogers and Steve Hane ushered.

Jodi graduated from Northwest- Kropf reception A reception for Lester Kropf and Ruth Yordy Kropf will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, in the fellowship hall at Albany Mennonite urn SL-' 8 Quick LEBANON Gene and Evelyn Quick of Lebanon are inviting friends and family to a celebration of the 50th anniversary of their marriage. An open house, hosted by their children, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec.

19, at the Evangelical Church Annex on Park and Ash streets. Gene and Evelyn were married Dec. 18, 1948. They are the parents of Linda Usler of Lebanon, Steven Quick of Lebanon and Ken Quick of Winston. The couple has requested that no gifts be given.

NOTEBOOK 8-40 schedules holiday party Sunday LEBANON The annual 840 Christmas Party of Linn County Salon No. 337 will be held at the American Legion Post, 480 Main St. from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13.

The Salon will furnish the turkey. Partners are to bring the rest of the holiday dinner. Spouses and friends are invited. The Children and Youth chairman will have a raffle for gift certificates, with the proceeds to go to research projects to assist in the prevention and control of tuberculosis, cystic fibrosis, lung and other respiratory diseases in children. Unwrapped gifts for the children of Doernbecher Hospital should be brought, and partners also are encouraged to bring an ornament for the Christmas tree.

The 8-40 is an honorary subsidiary women's organization of the American Legion Auxiliary, Santiam Unit No. 51, in Lebanon. Christmas memories are on the agenda Oregon Retired Educators Association, Unit 18, will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14, at Mr.

Jay's Restaurant, 2180 Pacific Blvd. S.E. for luncheon preceded by a business meeting. Members will be asked to share with other members special Christmas memories of the past. Joy Wallace will lead the group in Christmas caroling.

Members also are asked to bring a nonperishable food donation for Fish. Vets to meet Tuesday Veterans of the Merchant Marines, the Navy and the Armed Guard will have their monthly meeting in Eugene from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, at the Eagles on the Green. She teaches in the Seattle School District, and he is doing post-doctoral work in cell biology at the University of Washington. The Thorpes celebrated their marriage with a trip to Portland and Lincoln City. They are living in Seattle. Jodi and Curt Stilp em College in St. Paul, and works as an administrative assistant.

Curt graduated from Winona State University in Minnesota and is a registered nurse at St. John's Hospital. They took a trip to Cancun, Mexico, and their home is in Maple-wood, Minn. Church, Century Drive, 3405 Kizer Ave. N.E.

They were married Nov. 7 in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, and are making their home in Albany. resources. He is also the school's track and field and cross Rice-Eddy Mariah Anne Eddy and Randall Edward Rice were married July 18, 1997, at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Bishop Walter Grundorf officiated. Mariah wore a hoop-skirt dress of raw silk with a beaded bodice, and an heirloom necklace that had belonged to her great-grandmother. The bridal attendants were Wanda Trimble, maid of honor; Lara Bonnell and Jesse Palmer, bridesmaids; and Mariah's new sister-in-law, Sarah Jean Rice, junior bridesmaid. The groom's attendants were Ben Powers, best man; brothers-in-law James Eddy and Bill Eddy, groomsmen; and Adam Borich, ringbearer. Mariah, daughter of Jim and Karen Eddy, graduated from Lath-rop High School in 1995 and attended Linn-Benton Community College.

She is a certified nurse's aide. Randy, the son of Marland and Norma Rice, graduated from West Albany High School in 1994 and attended Linn-Benton Community Wakefield-Falk Nicole Falk and Jessie Wakefield were married Sept. 19 at Whitespires Church in Albany. Pastor Ron Sisler officiated. Sharon Falk of Tangent is the bride's mother.

Jim and Linda Smith of Salem and the late Leonard Wakefield are the groom's parents. Nicole wore a satin princess-style gown with a sweetheart neckline, long fitted sleeves and a cathedral train. It was trimmed with beads and sequins hand-sewn onto Battenburg lace. She wore a handmade fingertip veil and carried a bouquet of tiger lilies, red roses and ivy. Kendra Kirk was matron of honor and Sabrina Riley, Kelli Andrews -J.

VW- ininmi I Foundation announces awards ENGAGEMENTS Mariah and Randall Rice College. He is a cook at the West-mark Hotel in Fairbanks, Alaska, where the couple lives. He also is attending chef's school at the University of AlaskaFairbanks. and Charlotte Warner were bridesmaids. Junior bridemaids were Taylor Robinson and Ciara Belcas-tro.

Nieces of the bride, Sara and Bailey Falk, were flowergirls. The ringbearer was the groom's brother, Dillan Wakefield. Bobby Brown the best man. The groomsmen were James La-Coursiere and brothers of the groom Corey and Lenny Wakefield. Nicole graduated from Central Linn High School in 1995 and is employed by the Salem Speech and Language Center.

Jessie graduated from South Albany High School in 1994 and is owner of a Salem business. After a trip to the Inn at the Seventh Mountain, the Wakefields are living in Salem. The foundation also has appointed new board members. Comprised of 25 volunteers from around Oregon, the foundation works with the OSU College of Agricultural Sciences' development office to raise money to benefit programs. Three departments or projects and 13 student clubs will receive a portion of the money. Among the grantees are: OSU's livestock judging team, which will have money to participate in the regional Future Farmers of America contest. The dairy judging team, which will be able to host a Youth Field Day and a summer tour of dairies in western Washington and the upper Willamette Valley.
