Albany Democrat-Herald Saturday, November 8, 1997 WEDDINGS Nikki and Reese Frum Frum-Edgar Nikki Lynn Edgar and G. Reese Frum were married Oct. 18 at Woodland Chapel in Salem. Dale Moore officiated. Mert and Kathy Edgar of Silverton, Tana Penfold of Albany and Gary Frum of Brownsville are the couple's parents.

Nikki wore an empire-waisted gown with chiffon skirt. She carried white roses, stephanotis and ivy. Kathy Edgar was her daughter's matron of honor. Lynnette Allen and Lisa Fleetwood, sisters of the bride, and Adrian Ullven and Kim Jordan were bridesmaids. The best man was Jason Williams, and the groomsmen were Jeb DeZurney, John Brown, Jeff Holloway and Jason Frey.

Sam Jaross and Chris Jaross were the ushers. Nikki graduated from Silverton High School and from Southern Oregon State College. She works in Corvallis for NCASI. Reese attended Central Linn High School and Linfield College. He's an employee of DLF Trifoleum.

The Frums, of Albany, took a wedding trip to Disney World at Orlando, Fla. ANNIVERSARIES Matteson Tom and Lois Matteson of Albany are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today. Lois Tullos married Tom Matteson Nov. 8, 1947, in Oakland, Calif. She is originally from Monticello, and he is from Bolivar, Mo.

The Mattesons lived in Springfield, for three years and in Fremont, for 20 years. After living in Prineville briefly, they moved to Albany in 1973. Tom was a maintenance mechanic before they started their roofing business in Fremont. Besides the roofing company, the Mattesons have been involved in several other small businesses, including a mobile home park, a gas station, a grocery store and, since 1981, the auction business. They have always worked as partners.

The couple is semi now, and, after years of being too busy, Tom says he would like to try fishing again, "If I still know how." Lois and Tom are parents of Donna Matteson Sherman and Richard and Doris Wooton Pictured 25 years ago Wooton Richard and Doris Wooton of Albany will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 10. Cards from friends will be appreciated. The Wootons -were married in Eugene in 1947. Richard worked at South Forest Plywood before retiring; Doris retired from Teledyne Wah Chang.

They have lived in Albany for 40 years. Doris and Richard have three daughters, Gloria Shinn of Halsey and Lois Owen and Beverly DeHut, both of Albany. Their family also includes four grandsons, a granddaughter and two great grandchildren. ENGAGEMENTS DAVIDSON SCHAFFNER Ronell Jane Davidson and Matthew Mark Schaffner have announced their engagement. They plan to be married in July of 1999.

Ronell, daughter of Rod and Sandra Davidson of Albany, graduated in 1994 from South Albany High School. She is studying in Portland at the Linfield College School of Nursing and is working at Good Samaritan Medical Library. Matthew is the son of Mark and Denese Schaffner of Albany. A 1995 South Albany High School graduate, he attends Linn-Benton Community College and plans to transfer in 1998 to the University of Oregon. He works for Cellular One of Albany.

ELLIOTT DUNKIN Valerie Elliott, daughter of Ken and Barb Elliott, and Jason Dunkin, son of Dave Dunkin and Patti I'Bach are engaged. They will be married May 9, 1998. Valerie graduated from South Albany High School in 1987 and attends Linn-Benton Community College. She works for HewlettPackard. Jason graduated from Dallas High School in 1989 and attended Chemeketa Community College.

He owns and operates Slam Dunkin Guide Service. Kebra and Matthew Rice Rice-Fosdick Kebra Ann Fosdick and Matthew William Rice were married July 12 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Father John Betts officiating. The couple's parents are Gary and Laura Fosdick and Bill and Linda Rice, all of Albany. Kebra wore a satin gown beaded with pearls and sequins.

She carried a bouquet of white roses, stephanotis and gardenias. Andrea Hampl was maid of honor, and Kristi Fosdick, the bride's sister, Jenny Carson-Phillips and Sage Robinson were bridesmaids. Tim Robinson was best man. Corey Daniels, Billy Hall, uncle of the groom, and Skip Marler, were groomsmen. Megan and Nick Rice, sister and brother of the groom, were flowergirl and ringbearer.

Kebra graduated from West Albany High School in 1992 and is a full-time student at Linn-Benton Community College. She works for Albany General Hospital. Matt graduated from West Albany High School in 1993 and attended Linn-Benton Community College. He works for Oremet. The Rices took a trip to Kauai, Hawaii.

They live in Albany. Tom and Lois Matteson Married for 50 years. Mavis Matteson, both of Albany, and Tom and Pamela Matteson of Beaverton. There are five grandchildren. Tisha and Kelly Dillon Dillon-Steele Tisha Dawn Steele and Kelly Del Dillon were married July 5 at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

The Rev. Arlyn Russert officiated. The couple's parents are James and Belinda Steele and Del and Michelle Dillon, all of Eugene. Tisha wore a satin gown with a sheathing of beaded, embroidered roses. A headpiece of silk flowers held her veil and she carried a bouquet of peach roses and assorted white flowers.

Heidi Kyle was maid of honor; Michelle Oberbeck, the groom's sister Laurissa Dillon and the bride's cousin Jessica Parker were bridesmaids. Tiffany Land and Dillon Marshall, cousins of the bride, were flowergirl and ringbearer. Jonathan Dillon was his brother's best man. The groomsmen were the bride's brother Mathew Steele, the groom's brother Jerimiah Dillon, and Steven Erheart. Tisha attended Willamette High School in Eugene and graduated in 1997 from West Albany High School.

She is a student. Kelly, a 1994 Willamette High School graduate, is serving in the Navy. After a Honolulu honeymoon, the Dillons are living in Everett, Wash. Mitchell Bill and Joyce Mitchell of Albany celebrated 50 years of marriage in August at a reunion of the Mitchell-Fortier family at the Salem home of daughter Cami. The couple's children were hosts.

Joyce Fortier and Bill Mitchell were married Nov. 11, 1947, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albany. During their marriage they lived in Springfield, Yakima, and Scio before returning to Albany. Bill retired as a vice president of SmokeCraft.

He is active in programs for retarded citizens and is on the board of Chamberlin House. Joyce is a homemaker whose hobbies include reading. The Mitchells like traveling in their fifth wheeler and golfing. They especially enjoy their children and grandchildren. Joyce and Bill are parents of Steve and Judie Rubert of Corvallis, Steve and Cami Summers of Salem, Jerry and Mary Lou Boydston and Bill Mitchell all of Al- Orchid, bulb topics to lead week of mid-valley garden club meetings "Orchids, Their Care and Culture" is the program topic for a meeting of Linn County Master Gardeners at 7 p.m.

Monday, Nov. 10, in the Evelyn Downing Room at the Linn Armory Building on Fourth Avenue Lyon Street S.E. The meeting is open to the public. Bust and Thelma Nance of Albany will present the program. HOME The topic will be "Bulbs" when the Sweet Home Garden Club meets at 1:30 p.m.

Monday, Nov. 10, at the United Methodist Church, 845 Sixth Ave. Patrick Gruebele, owner of Green Thumb Garden Center in Lebanon, will discuss "Spring Things" with the Albany Metro Garden Club at their meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, in the Fireside Room at the Albany First United Methodist Church, 1115 28th Ave.

S.W. All interested gardeners and flower growers are invited to attend. The monthly meeting of the Grand Prairie Garden Club will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at the Albany Public Library, 1390 Waverly Drive S.E.

For the program, a video, "The Christmas. Tree Story" will be shown. Members will also discuss plans for the greens sale at the Christmas bazaar to be held in December at the Linn County Fair Expo Center. Women's club to spotlight veterans LEBANON A presentation honoring veterans and special memories of Veterans Day will highlight the Lebanon Christian Women's Club meeting Tuesday, Nov. 11.

The group will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Pineway Golf Club. The cost is $6.25. Sylvia Stock of Sweet Home will sing, and Nancy Stoltz of Tacoma will speak.

Stoltz owned a travel agency for 14 years. For reservations or to arrange for complimentary child Jane and Ryan Bauserman Bauserman-Scheie Jane Andrea Scheie and Ryan James Bauserman exchanged wedding vows July 17 in Kauai, Hawaii, with Calvin Ho officiating. Parents of the couple are Larry and Roxanne Scheie of Albany and Debbie Clark-Hagey of Gresham and Jim Bauserman of Longview, Wash. Jane wore a satin, sleeveless sheath with a low-cut back. Her tulle train was trimmed with satin roses and edging, and her matching, layered veil was held by satin roses.

She carried a mixed bouquet of Hawaiian flowers. Melissa Scheie was her sister's maid of honor; bridesmaids were Coleen Volbeda and Jenny Bauserman, the groom's sister. Joel Bauserman was best man for his brother, and another brother, Dustin Bauserman, was groomsman. The groom's sister, Hilary Clark, was flowergirl. Jane is finishing work on her degree in elementary education at Oregon State University.

Ryan graduated from OSU with a degree in marketing. He works in Eugene for Frito Lay. After a vacation on Kauai, they live in Albany. Joyce and Bill Mitchell Married in Albany in 1947 bany, and Jeff and Angela Nash of Lacomb. The family has seven grandchil- care, call 258-5549.

Christian Women's club of Albany will meet for brunch from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at the Benton County Clubhouse, 6097 N.E. Ebony Lane, Adair Village. Harmony" will be the theme.

The meeting will begin at noon at the Albany Public Library, 1390 Waverly Drive S.E.; the public is invited. There is no admission charge. Kislingbury is managing editor of the Democrat-Herald.

Parents of the couple are Soren and Rose Nielsen of Rickreall and Omer and Evelyn Watte of Albany. Karen wore an A-line gown of Italian matte satin with pearls and lace on the bodice.

She designed her own veil using the headpiece her mother wore 29 years ago. She carried a bouquet of 56 red roses. The newlyweds are members of St. Mary's Classical Choir, and the group sang at their wedding. Anita Stryker was her sister's matron of honor; Katie Tooley and Kathleen Heimueller were bridesmaids.

The best man was the groom's brother, Paul Watte, and David Alexander and Ken Corcoran were groomsmen. The bride's brother, Peter Nielsen, ushered. Karen graduated in 1987 from Dallas High School and earned a bachelor's degree in home economics in 1991 and her master's in business administration in 1996 from Oregon State University. She is an operations supervisor for Caliber Logistics. Richard graduated in 1975 from West Albany High School and earned an associate's degree in electronics in 1987 from Linn-Benton Community College.

He is an electronics calibration technician at Hewlett-Packard Co. The Wattes traveled to Kauai, Hawaii for their honeymoon. They are living in Albany. BRUNELLE SWEETER Elizabeth L. Brunelle and Jered Sweeter are engaged and plan to be married June 6,1998.

Elizabeth's parents are John and Dawn Brunelle of Lebanon. Jered is the son of the late Janet Sweeter and of Lesley and Darla Sweeter of Jefferson. Elizabeth graduated from Lebanon High School in 1996 and works for Federal Metals Central Credit Union in Albany. Jered, a 1996 Jefferson High School graduate, works in Albany for Les Schwab. SEIFERT HARTER Ginger Seifert and Chad Harter have announced their engagement.

They are planning a Feb. 14, 1998, wedding. Gale and Gladys Seifert of Shedd are Ginger's parents. Ron and Donna Harter of Independence are Chad's parents. Ginger graduated in 1990 from Central Linn High School and in 1996 from Oregon State University.
